The Landfill Communities Fund has distributed more than £700m to local community, social and environmental projects since it was launched ten years ago, it revealed this week. The fund, formerly the Landfill Tax Credit Scheme, was created by the Government to help offset the impact of landfill on local communities. It has provided funding to 19,000 projects across the UK.
