Council home maintenance

Councils will receive £3.47 billion in funding to maintain and manage council homes in 2007-08, the Government has said. The figure represents a four per cent rise per dwelling on the previous year's settlement, or £63 more per home. The Government has also earmarked £100 million to compensate councils for the continued five per cent cap on rent rises.
