Big Lottery funds buyout

Good causes distributor the Big Lottery Fund has put £2 million towards Scotland's largest community land buyout. The grant, made through the Growing Community Assets programme, will help community group Sealladh na Beinne Moire buy the 37,232ha South Uist estate. The programme aims to help local communities buy assets. It is being delivered by economic development agency Highlands and Islands Enterprise.
