1. Contact the Tree Council. The charity has been running its Tree Warden Scheme since 1990, and will be able to let you know if there is already a local tree warden network operating in your area. "If you're setting up from scratch, they can provide guidance and give you training," says Jessica Thompson, Manchester coordinator for green streets at community woodland organisation Red Rose Forest, which coordinates the Manchester Tree Warden Network.
