Railway station improvement
Accessibility to 45 railway stations in England and Wales will be improved between 2009-11 under the second round of the Department for Transport's £370 million Access for All funding. The work will make access to platforms easier for disabled people. Forty-seven stations are being improved under the round one. The Government has also allocated £2.5m to over 300 stations under the Small Schemes programme. It will fund improvements such as induction loops and disabled parking.
