Innovations - A project to help firms win local business

Build Up North Staffordshire is a £250,000 project aimed at getting local companies involved in rebuilding and regenerating Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-under-Lyme. Any local construction-related business, from sole traders to bigger companies, can sign up to the scheme to give themselves a better chance of working with major contractors on local projects. Build Up North Staffordshire was developed by a partnership of local organisations, including Stoke-on-Trent City Council, housing market renewal pathfinder Renew North Staffordshire, and Compendium, the developer behind the Weston Heights development in Stoke. Nigel Barrett, the city council's construction supply chain project manager, answers our panel's questions.
