Appointment at House of Lords Appointments Commission

The House of Lords Appointments Commission has announced Haleh Afshar as non-party-political peer. She is adviser to the Government on Islamic law public policy, founder and chair of the Muslim Women's Network, and professor of politics and women's studies at the University of York.
