Department of Transport announces public inquiry into plans to build bridge over River Mersey
There will be a public inquiry into plans to build a bridge over the River Mersey, the Department for Transport has announced. It is envisaged that the inquiry into the six-lane bridge between Runcorn and Widnes, which would form the centrepiece of the Mersey Gateway Project, will take place in Halton early next year.
