National Audit Office report firms fail to reduce time spent on administration

Efforts to slash red tape for businesses have failed to reduce the time firms spend complying with regulations, a report says. According to government public spending watchdog the National Audit Office, 40 per cent of firms found complying with government regulations was more time consuming in 2007 despite Whitehall introducing more than 150 measures to reduce administration.
