Tories scrap pledge to match Labour spending

The Tories have scrapped their pledge to match Labour spending in 2010/11. At a news conference on Wednesday, leader David Cameron said it was time to set a "new path for restraining the growth of spending" but the party has not detailed which departments would shoulder the cuts should it win a general election.
