New Cabe chair named

Paul Finch has been named as the new chair of design watchdog the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment (Cabe).

Finch, who is programme director for the World Architectural Festival, replaces Sir John Sorrell and will be in office for four years.

Finch spent five years as chair of Cabe’s design review panel and has chaired its 2012 Olympic Games design review panel since 2006.

Culture minister Ben Bradshaw said Finch would bring "a wealth of experience and a formidable understanding of the world of architecture and the built environment to the role".
