Decision to cut cash defended

The regional development minister has defended the decision of some regional development agencies to cut cash from their physical regeneration budgets to fund measures to combat the recession. Responding to a question from at a Labour Party conference fringe meeting last week, Rosie Winterton said it was up to the RDAs to decide how to reprioritise their budgets in the light of the downturn.
