If there's one topic that social researchers have crawled over interminably, it's Neets: young people who are not in employment, education or training. And much of the research could be criticised, if you care to carp, for reaching conclusions you might have guessed in advance. The answer, of course, is that you might have thought you knew, but it's important to prove it - and by doing so, start to suggest possible solutions.
