Living on the edge of care
Recently, two cases of terrible historic wrongs have hit the headlines. First, it was reported that the poor or orphaned children removed from Britain and sent to Australia and other parts of the Commonwealth, where many suffered abuse and exploitation, are to receive an official apology from Gordon Brown. This migration only ended in the 1960s. Another report details the failure to act against Catholic priests involved in child sexual abuse in Dublin.
